Fostering Is the Heart of What We Do
Florida Furry Friends operates almost entirely through a community-based foster network. Every animal lives in a real home — not a cage — receiving care and love needed to thrive.
Fostering is temporary, but the impact is permanent. You provide stability and safety while we find the perfect forever family.

- Flexible commitment — 2 weeks to several months

- Fosters have first right to adopt their foster animal
How the Foster Program Works
Getting started is easy. Here is what to expect from application to your first placement.
Submit Your Application
Fill out the foster application below. Tell us about your home, lifestyle, and what type of animal you are comfortable caring for.
Orientation & Home Check
Complete a brief virtual or in-person orientation. A coordinator confirms your home is a safe environment for a foster animal.
Meet Your Foster Animal
We match you based on your lifestyle and preferences. You receive a full supply kit on placement day at no cost.
Ongoing Support
Our team is available throughout the placement. We handle all vet appointments and reimburse any approved expenses quickly.
Transition to Adoption
When an adopter is found, we coordinate a smooth handoff — or you can adopt your foster animal yourself!
Foster Responsibilities
- Provide a safe, clean, indoor space
- Feed, water, and monitor health daily
- Socialize and provide regular enrichment
- Attend scheduled vet appointments
- Communicate updates to your FFF coordinator
- Participate in adoption events when available
